Characteristics Bera Vittorio Barbera d'Asti Ronco Malo
Bera Vittorio Barbera d'Asti Ronco Malo is a natural monovarietal Barbera red wine from the DOCG Barbera d'Asti produced by Bera Vittorio e Figli.
Bera Vittorio e Figli is a winery located in the municipality of Canelli, in the Asti region. The winery was the first to bottle its own Moscato in 1964, instead of selling the grapes to the cooperative. It cultivates all its vineyards organically, respecting the biodiversity and the natural balance of the plots.
The vineyard for Bera Vittorio Barbera d'Asti Ronco Malo covers an area of one hectare. The soils on the estate are of calcareous marls, originally caused by the rupture of deep siliceous sandstones mixed with marls of marine sedimentation. The vines are trained in Guyot style, have an average age of approximately 17 years and produce around 50 hectolitres per hectare. The grapes are harvested manually to keep the harvest whole until arriving in the winery, and to make a first selection of bunches while still in the field.
To produce Bera Vittorio Barbera d'Asti Ronco Malo, the harvest is destemmed and vatted. There it macerates with the skins and ferments with native yeasts for 30 days. Vinification takes place in 50 hectolitre cement tanks, and lastly the wine is aged on lees for 24 months. The final wine is bottled without clarifying or filtering it.
Bera Vittorio Barbera d'Asti Ronco Malo is a wild wine, with good acidity and a good structure. A wine with great vitality.
