About Atteca
Atteca is a red wine from Calatayud made by Ateca Bodegas, a winery that was founded in 2005 in the town of Ateca, a few kilometres from Calatayud. This winery belongs to the Orowines group, a very powerful group in this country.
The climate in this area is continental, characterized by record breaking cold winters, hot summers and an average annual temperature of 13.1ºC. The average rainfall is 300-550 mm.
This wine is a varietal Grenache (100%) from vine plots of the Grenache grape variety planted on slate soils in the higher parts of this area. In terms of processing, grape selection and manual collection is carried out when the grapes are mature.
After selecting the grapes, they are fermented in stainless steel tanks. Finally, Atteca spends 10 months in French oak barrels to age.
