Arnot-Roberts Heaven and Earth Pinot Noir 2019 is a smooth red wine with aromas of wild fruit, notes of lavender and hints of spice. The palate is juicy, succulent and supple. A medium-bodied wine with energetic acidity and tight tannins. The finish is lingering and mineral.
Duncan Arnot Meyers and Nathan Lee Roberts, two childhood friends who grew up together in the Napa Valley surrounded by vineyards and wineries, decided to set up their own project called Arnot-Roberts in 2001 in Healdsburg, Sonoma County, California. This winery, although young, is one of the most exciting in California, where only an average of 2,700 cases are produced and where the winery seeks to highlight the nature of its unique terroirs. Although they themselves would consider that their project is only in its infancy in terms of understanding the perfect winemaking process, they are very clear that for a wine to work well, climate, soil, purpose and agriculture must all work together.
Their Arnot-Roberts Heaven and Earth Pinot Noir comes from a vineyard with the same name (Heaven and Earth). An incredibly beautiful hillside plot, which has been organically cultivated with meticulous attention to detail by viticulture guru Greg Adams and where the Pinot Noir variety ripens slowly resulting in small berries but with great sugar concentration. In the winery, the grapes are carefully selected, destemmed and gently crushed. Fermentation is spontaneous with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks and then the wine ages for a 18 months in French oak barrels.
From a unique vineyard that produces unique grapes, Arnot-Roberts Heaven and Earth Pinot Noir is a red wine from the AVA Sonoma Coast that reveals a fantastic natural energy, the fruit of heaven and earth.
