About Ar.Pe.Pe. Sassella Stella Retica
Ar.Pe.Pe. Sassella Stella Retica is a barrel-aged red wine made from the Nebbiolo variety by the Ar.Pe.Pe. family winery in Lombardia.
Although there had already been five generations of work in these vineyards in Valterillo, it was not until Arturo Pelizzatti Perego arrived in 1984 that they began to produce their own wines with the aim of making a world-class Nebbiolo in Lombardia. Today his three children are keeping the Ar.Pe.Pe. legacy alive with tradition, passion and technology.
Ar.Pe.Pe. Sassella Stella Retica comes from vineyards lying on dangerously steep slope terraces in the heart of Valtellina. These plots lie at an altitude of 400 to 600 metres above sea level with mainly granite, red clay and schist soils. The team use environmentally-friendly agriculture, all their work is manual and the yield is limited to 45 hl / ha.
In the winery, the grapes selected to make Ar.Pe.Pe. Sassella Stella Retica are pressed and then macerated on lees for 15 days. Following fermentation, the wine is left to age for 2 years in oak and chestnut barrels.
Ar.Pe.Pe. Sassella Stella Retica is a charming Nebbiolo made somewhere other than Barolo. A vigorous and elegant wine that has caught the attention of connoisseurs.
2015 | Ar.Pe.Pe. Sassella Stella Retica 2015 is a smooth red wine with aromas of violet and pink flowers, small red berries and spicy notes. On the palate it is fruity, fine and tasty. The clear tannins and integrated acidity make for a fresh, mineral, intense and balanced wine. |
