A polygon is, by definition, a geometric figure bounded by straight lines that encloses a singular space. However, in the wine map, there is no rigidity; there exists an arbitrary geometry, as diverse as the sides of a polygon and as captivating as the unique character of each village. Under this premise emerges a line that refuses to homogenise the landscape and prefers to draw a map of unique identities, where each edge represents the altitude, the soil, and the distinctive pulse of a specific mountain corner.

From the untamed enclave of Gualtallary, in the district of Tupungato, within the iconic Valle de Uco in Mendoza, the esteemed winery Zuccardi brings this label to life. Its rugged terrain, prominently featuring the Lomas del Jaboncillo, conceals soils with a high content of calcareous material and remarkably heterogeneous, formed by the superimposition of various layers of sand, caliche, and stone. In this extreme and wild environment at 1360 metres above sea level, the cabernet franc variety is cultivated under a philosophy of precision viticulture and minimal intervention, crowned by a meticulous manual harvest.

In the winery, the skilled vintner Sebastián Zuccardi seeks to express the landscape's complexity with absolute clarity in the vintage. After the grapes are received, the must ferments with its native yeasts in concrete vessels. Subsequently, the wine undergoes its ageing process by combining 500-litre barrels and 2500-litre used French oak foudres. The use of these large volumes of used wood allows the tannins to round out and stabilise the wine with subtle oxygen contributions, without ever masking the fruity freshness or the imposing texture of the calcareous soil.
