About Viñas de Gaín Blanco
Artadi Viñas de Gain Blanco is a white wine made by the Bodegas y Viñedos Artadi winery in Laguardia, Rioja Alavesa.
Bodegas y Viñedos Artadi’s origins date back to 1985, when a group of winegrowers decided to get together and start making their wines as a cooperative.
In 1992 the Lacalle took over the running of this cooperative with the aim of producing unique wines, wines that reflect their origin. They put all their effort into cultivating the vineyard, thereby giving greater prominence to smallholding wines. This led to them leaving the D.O.Ca. Rioja in 2015, without abandoning wine production in this region.
Bodegas y Viñedos Artadi currently has over 80 hectares of vineyards in La Rioja, with different characteristics, especially in terms of the composition of the soils. It is also part of the winemaking group that also consists of the wineries Bodegas y Viñedos Artazu (Navarre) and Bodegas y Viñedos El Sequé (Alicante).
Artadi Viñas de Gaín Blanco is a white wine made with Viura grapes from several vineyards located in the municipalities of Laguardia and Elvillar, at over 450 meters above sea level, mostly on clay-calcareous soils.
Harvesting is carried out by hand, with the grapes being selected in the vineyard itself. Once in the cellar, they ferment partially in barrels for some 30 days. When the fermentation is complete, it is left to stand for 2 months in stainless steel deposits with its fine lees.

2015 | Artadi Viñas de Gaín Blanco 2015 is a mature white wine with structure and balance. This vintage stands out for its elegance on the nose, with ripe white fruit and distinguished toasted notes together with a touch of balsam. On the palate it is silky, with volume and a very lingering finish.
2014 | Viñas de Gaín Blanco 2014 is a mature white wine, structured and creamy. Once again, Viñas de Gain blanco shows all the virtues of the Viura variety in its favourite habitat, La Rioja. Ripe white fruit on the nose, honeyed and spicy notes on a mineral background. In the mouth, it is silky, with volume and a long and persistent finish.
2009 | This wine stands out in the mouth for its bulky attack. This is a creamy, silky and warm white wine with a magnificent acidity which defines its and brings freshness. A long, persistent and delightful finish. Smoky, fruity and toasted notes appear at retro-olfaction. Golden yellow colour with amber reflections. Clean and very bright. Abundant, elegant tears on the glass. Highly intense, complex and very enjoyable. Aromas of ripe, almost jammy yellow fruit with sweet spices and smoky, toasted notes. Sexy and interesting. |
