Torelló Pàl·lid Brut Reserva is a sparkling wine produced by the Torelló winery in the municipality of Gelida (Barcelona), Corpinnat.
Torelló is a family winery that dates back to 1951, when Francesc Torelló i Casanovas decided to redirect the family’s farming activities and start producing bottled wines and sparkling wines.
The Torelló family has a fabulous 135 hectare estate of medieval origin (1395), with olive trees and vineyards, where they have been cultivating native and foreign varieties for several years. They produce all their wines and sparkling wines with thoroughness and passion, demonstrating all the character and personality of the area where they originate.
The Can Martí estate has chalky-clay soils and a typically Mediterranean climate, with an average annual temperature of 16ºC, an average rainfall of 460 mm/year and rainfalls concentrated in spring and autumn.
Torelló Pàl.lid Brut Reserva is a pink sparkling wine prepared mainly with Pinot Noir grapes from their own vineyards located on the Can Martí estate.
Harvesting is carried out manually, with the grapes being selected in the vineyard. Once they arrive at the winery, the grapes are destemmed and pressed. The must obtained is fermented in stainless steel tanks with local yeasts at a controlled temperature. Once the fermentation has finished it stabilizes and clarifies naturally in concrete tanks. With this wine the tirage for the second fermentation is performed in the bottle where it will age stacked for a minimum of 18 months. After this time the disgorgement is performed without adding sugar.
