About Te Mata Chardonnay Estate Vineyards
Te Mata Chardonnay Estate Vineyards is a barrel-aged white wine made by the New Zealand Te Mata Estate winery with the Chardonnay variety in the Hawke’s Bay area.
Te Mata Estate was one of New Zealand’s first wineries. With 240 hectares of their own vineyards in the exceptional Hawke Valley, they currently produce a wide range of world-renowned white and red wines. There is good reason it is considered one of the 10 best wineries in the country.
From a landscape of steep and gentle slopes and a warm climate, Te Mata Chardonnay Estate Vineyards has the balance, power and elegance that is so characteristic of this wine region. It comes from their own vineyards that are cultivated with traditional practices like using plants and sheep to reduce the use of chemicals to a minimum.
In the winery, the grapes used to make Te Mata Chardonnay Estate Vineyards are vinified separately. Some of the clusters are gently pressed whole and allowed to ferment in barrels on thick lees. The rest of the grapes are destemmed and, after being gently pressed, they ferment in stainless steel tanks.
Te Mata Chardonnay Estate Vineyards is a magnificent white wine from the other side of the world. The maritime climate and many hours of sun results in an elegant New Zealand style Chardonnay.

2017 | Te Mata Chardonnay Estate Vineyards 2017 is a luscious white wine exuding aromas of stone fruit, nuts, and hints of vanilla. On the palate, it is rich, flavoursome, and harmonious. A refined and sophisticated white wine with a prolonged, delightful finish. |
