About Suertes del Marqués Cruz Santa

Suertes del Marqués Cruz Santa is a red wine made with the local Vijariego Negro variety from Valle de Orotava (Tenerife) by the Suertes del Marqués winery.

In the north of the island of Tenerife we find Suertes del Marqués. A family winery located in the Orotava Valley that started out in 2006 with one goal: to promote the native varieties of this volcanic area and to make wines with minimal intervention in the winery.

Suertes del Marqués Cruz Santa is made from the Vijariego Negro variety: a grape that adapts perfectly to the volcanic soil and the trade winds of the area. The work in the vineyard is manual and involves little intervention, with strains of more than 20 years planted in double Royat cord style. Organic treatments are used, and in the event of diseases, only natural products are employed.

Suertes del Marqués Cruz Santa is macerated and fermented with native yeasts in open containers. The ageing takes place for 11 months in 500 litre used oak barrels.

Suertes del Marqués Cruz Santa is a very good opportunity to try a 100% native volcanic red wine.
