Characteristics Stéphane Ogier Saint Joseph Le Passage Rouge

Real reviews from customers who have purchased this product

It might be his roots in the Ampuis hills, it might be the fantastic expressions he gets from the Syrah, Garnacha and Viogner varieties, it might be because he knows how to combine the Côte Rôtie tradition with new techniques from Burgundy... Whatever it is, Stéphane Ogier’s wines are all the rage.

A great example of this is the Stéphane Ogier Saint Joseph Le Passage Rouge, a Syrah red wine made from grapes that grow in the Saint Joseph Le Passage vineyard. These vines were planted more than 30 years ago on granite soils and are part of the AOC Saint Joseph. Taking meticulous care of the vineyards, the Syrah variety grows in its natural habitat and through environmentally friendly agriculture, it reveals its very best side.

In the winery, the Stéphane Ogier Saint Joseph Le Passage Rouge grapes are destemmed and cold macerated. Fermentation then takes place spontaneously in stainless steel tanks with native yeasts. Finally, the wine is aged for 18 months in used French oak barrels.

Stéphane Ogier’s expertise are clear to see in each of his creations. There is good reason his name has become one to look out for among Côte Rôtie wine lovers. Stéphane Ogier Saint Joseph Le Passage Rouge is a very pleasant Syrah with a granite influence.
