Segura Viudas Brut Rosé is a fruity sparkling wine with red fruit aromas. On the palate it is refreshing, full of cherry and with a slight acidity. A cava with a delicate and abundant foam, it is very easy to drink and very easy to pair with other things.
In recent years, cava consumption has changed. In the 90s there were only a few wineries that dared to make sparkling rosé wines, whereas the last decade has seen many more begin to include rosé as one of their offerings. Made mainly with Trepat, Garnacha and Pinot Noir, these cavas enjoy an incredibly unique colour and an impressive versatility. And of course, Segura Viudas, a legendary winery in Penedès (Catalonia) owned by the Freixenet Group since 1984, was not going to miss out. Their Segura Viudas Brut Rosé is proof of this.
Made following the traditional method of cold maceration with the grape skins to create the lively colour and fruity aroma, Segura Viudas Brut Rosé is made from 7 different wines of the Trepat, Garnacha and Pinot Noir varieties. Both the first fermentation in stainless steel tanks and the second fermentation in the bottle are carried out using selected yeasts and finally, it is aged for a minimum of 12 months in contact with the lees.
With an image that combines tradition and modernity, Segura Viudas Brut Rosé is presented as a clear example of the rosé that is currently being created in the D.O. Cava. A very versatile sparkling wine with equal parts fruit and finesse.
