About Quinta Sardonia QS2
Quinta Sardonia QS2 is a red wine made in Castilla y León by the Quinta Sardonia winery in the Douro Valley, in the town of Sardon de Duero.
The climate in this area is characterized by long, cold winters and short, mild, dry summers. Quinta Sardonia QS2 is a blend of several varieties, Tinto Fino (80%), Cabernet Sauvignon (13%) and Petit Verdot (7%) from vineyards planted between 760 and 830 meters above sea level, in the town of Villabáñez and Sardon de Duero (Valladolid). The vineyards are found on over 11 types of different calcareous soils. As for processing, after selecting the bunches, the different varieties are blended before undergoing with locally grown yeasts. Malolactic fermentation takes place in barrels. QS2 spends 14 months in concrete tanks and French oak barrels. After aging, the wine is clarified with egg white and light filtration before bottling takes place. There is no need to decant this wine but we recommend opening an hour or two before serving.
