Quinta da Palmirinha Loureiro is a natural, biodynamic and vegan white wine made on lees. It is made with the local Loureiro variety by Quinta da Palmirinha in Vinho Verde, Minho (Portugal).
One of Portugal’s pioneers of biodynamic agriculture, Fernando Paiva is a history teacher who has his own Quinta da Palmirinha project in the Amarante area. A champion of complete respect for nature, he always works hard to find a constant balance between the animal, vegetable and mineral kingdoms. This balance is reflected in the beautiful wines he produces.
Quinta da Palmirinha Loureiro comes from a 3-hectare estate that has had Demeter biodynamic certification since 2007. This way of working seeks a healthy relationship between people and the environment. When the grape reaches optimum ripeness, it is harvested by hand.
In the winery, the Quinta da Palmirinha Loureiro grapes are gently pressed and the resulting must ferments spontaneously with native yeasts and with routine batonnage. Chestnut blossom is added to the press as an antioxidant. The wine then remains in contact with the lees. It is finally bottled without being clarified, filtered or adding sulphites.
Quinta da Palmirinha Loureiro is a white wine with a low alcohol content (11.5%) but that is full of substance. A vibrant and mineral wine that will leave you wanting more.
