Quartomoro Orriu Vermentino di Sardegna is a white wine aged in stainless steel made with the Vermentino variety by Quartomoro in the DOC Vermentino di Sardegna, in Sardinia (Italy).
Founded by oenologist Piero Cella, in Arborea, in the province of Oristano, Quartomoro is a small project that aims to experiment, innovate and share Sardinian viticulture while respecting traditions, terroir and nature. As a result, they produce elegant, original wines with a style that is truly representative of the terroir and the variety.
Quartomoro Orriu Vermentino di Sardegna comes from vines growing on sandy soils composed of disintegrated granite. The vines are cultivated using traditional methods and the grape bunches are manually harvested and immediately placed in boxes.
In the winery, the grapes selected to make Quartomoro Orriu Vermentino di Sardegna are gently pressed and the resulting must is statically decanted. Fermentation then begins in stainless steel tanks with native yeasts at a controlled temperature. Finally, the wine ages for about 6 months in these same tanks and a further 6 months in the bottle before being released.
Quartomoro Orriu Vermentino di Sardegna is a fresh, dynamic wine with mineral persistence and the name ‘Orriu’ means ‘one year later’, reflecting the time it takes to make.
