Planetes Carinyena Blanca

Planetes Carinyena Blanca is a single-variety Cariñena Blanca wine produced by the Família Nin-Ortiz winery in Porrera, in the DOQ Priorat.

Ester Nin and Carles Ortiz are the people behind this very interesting project. Esther is a winemaker from a family of winegrowers who left her native Penedès to settle in Priorat and work with Daphne Glorian, with whom she created the Clos Erasmus wine, with the 2004 and 2005 vintages being awarded 100 Parker points. Carles is a retired builder and climber who decided to settle in Porrera when he bought the Les Planetes estate. From the very beginning, he decided to cultivate his vines according to the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture.

This pair produces wines of the highest quality with the philosophy of caring for the environment and respecting nature. Their wines reflect the area, the climate and the vintage. They are produced using minimal intervention and fermentation takes place spontaneously with native yeasts.

Planetes Carinyena Blanca provides an excellent opportunity to taste a single-variety Cariñena Blanca wine from Priorat. The wine is aged for 6 months in clay amphoras and 3 months in oak barrels and gives us chance to rediscover this ancient variety that contains rusticity and terroir without sacrificing elegance.
