About Maxime-François Laurent Il Fait Soif

Maxime-François Laurent Il Fait Soif is a natural red wine coupage of the Cinsault, Garnacha and Syrah varieties, produced by Maxime François Laurent in the Domaine Gramenon under the A.O.C. Côtes du Rhône, France.

Maxime-François Laurent started this small wine business in 2006 and, in collaboration with a vine grower next door, he manages 6 hectares in the towns of Montbrison and Valréas where he works under the principles of biodynamic agriculture. Since 2010, he has produced certified organic wines with minimal intervention.

The grapes used to make the Maxime-François Laurent Il Fait Soif wine come from ecologically-cultivated vines aged between 15 to 30 years old, growing in predominantly clay-calcareous soils. The clusters are selected in the vineyard and the harvest is carried out manually. The grapes macerate for 15 days in concrete tanks, some of them with the stalks. Alcoholic fermentation takes place with native yeasts, and minimal sulphites are added after malolactic fermentation and depending on the vintages. The wine ages for six months and is bottled after Easter without clarifying or filtering.
