About Maison Orcia Châteauneuf-du-Pape Bio
Throughout the history of winemaking and wine selling, the négociant has always played an essential role, especially in France. This role originated in Burgundy and involved buying grapes, musts and wines from winegrowers and then taking charge of the winemaking, blending, aging, bottling, labelling and marketing. A dominant force that for years allowed people to release great wines and have direct access and that carries on today with the aim of uncovering exceptional quality wine estates. Jean-Philippe Manchès, a young and daring winemaker who trained at the Suze la Rousse wine university, set up a brand of spirits called Akymia with his brother, and then they both joined forces with their father to set up their own wine marketing company in 2016: Maison Orcia.
Developed and designed by true experts, Maison Orcia makes refined wines within everyone’s reach. A family adventure that searches for the region’s best grapes and produces very different cuvées with their own identity. Maison Orcia Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a red wine made within the AOC Châteauneuf-du-Pape, in the Rhône, using Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre varieties. The vines are 30 years old and planted on clay and sandy soils facing northeast. Once the grapes have reached optimum ripeness, they are selected, destemmed, fermented and macerated in concrete tanks for 3 weeks. Finally, the wine ages in concrete tanks for 12 months.
Maintaining a close relationship with their winegrowing partners and their own winemaking process, Maison Orcia Châteauneuf-du-Pape is an elegant, gourmet and, above all, affordable red wine. A great choice if you want to enjoy the magic of the southern Rhône.
