About Madremía
Madremía is a red wine from Toro, produced by Bodegas Divina Proporción, a winery that was founded in 2009. The vineyards were planted in 2010 and the first wine was released in 2011.
The climate in this area is continental with Atlantic influences, characterized by very hot summers (maximum 40 degrees) and very cold winters (minimum of -10 degrees), there is a large temperature variation between days and nights. This wine is a varietal Tinta de Toro from vines over 40 years old, farmed in an environmentally friendly manner.
As for processing, after manual harvesting, the grapes go into stainless steel tanks to be fermented. Subsequently, malolactic fermentation occurs in the barrel and the wine is then aged for 9 months in barrels of French and American oak.

2018 | Madremía 2018 is a richly concentrated red wine, exuding aromas of both red and black fruits, infused with spicy undertones and hints of cocoa. On the palate, it is luscious, full-bodied, and captivating. A medium-bodied wine that tempts one to indulge in another sip. |
|
2013 | The palate is powerful and structured. Great roles of fruit with spices. Good acidity. Long finish. Cherry colour with ruby edges and purple hues. Clean and bright. High layer. The nose is intense with notes of red and black fruits, intense floral notes, spices, toast. |
|
2012 | This red wine has a powerful taste, with pervasive, juicy, fleshy fruit, a good acidity and firm and ripe tannins. Very well structured. A long and persistent finish with pleasant notes of fruit jam and spices felt at retro-olfaction. A very good quality-price-pleasure ratio. Intense picota cherry colour with a ruby rim and violet reflections. Clean and bright. High robe, with abundant tinted tears on the glass. Highly intense aromas dominated by strong fruity notes. The ripe red (redcurrant, cherries and ripe strawberries) and dark (blueberries, blackcurrant) fruits leave space for subtle and pleasant floral, spiced, sweet and spicy notes, as well as deep subtle toasted aromas that superbly accompany this fantastic ensemble of fruit. |

2011 | This powerful red wine shows a mid palate once again marked by its abundant notes of juicy and fleshy fruit, a good acidity and a strong and ripe tannic sensation. Very well structured. Long and persistent finish which leaves nice notes of stewed fruit and spices at retro-olfaction. Very good value (and pleasure) for money. Intense dark cherry red colour with ruby red edges and violet reflections. Clean and bright. It has a high robe and abundant coloured tears. High intensity nasal aromas dominated by an incredible explosion of fruit notes. Its notes of ripe red fruit such as redcurrant, cherries and ripe strawberries and its notes of black fruit such as blueberries and cassis, give way to light and pleasant floral aromas, sweet and hot spicy notes and a background of subtle toasted notes which are perfectly matched with the abundant fruit aromas. |
