About Llavors
Llavors is a wine from Empordà produced by the La Vinyeta winery. The winery is located in Mollet de Peralada, in the Alt Empordà.
Llavors is a blend of cariñena, cabernet franc, syrah, garnacha, merlot and cabernet sauvingnon varieties. The grapes come from old vines 50 years old.
For processing, the wine is aged for five months in new French, Hungarian and Romanian oak barrels.
The label varies for each vintage to collect news from the local press, featuring the most recent events that have occurred during winemaking. This innovative design earned the winery the Laus Award for graphic design.
2013 | Good entry, cool and dry. Fleshy and light, with good acidity. Well integrated tannins. Persistent finish. Medium cherry red. Intense and bright. Medium intensity with aromas of red and black fruit. Smokiness, vanilla and cinnamon. Background of herbs. |

2011 | In the palate, this Spanish wine is intense, tasty and quite ripe for such a young red wine. It has a very good, refreshing acidity which makes the palate direct and crispy. Its high amount of fruit aromas are complemented with some hints of cocoa and coffee. Very balanced wine, with lively tannins, which provide the wine with a good structure allowing a good evolution in the bottle. Long and persistent finish which leaves nice smoky notes at retro-olfaction. Very good value for money. Red cherry colour with maroon edges. A clean and bright high-robe wine. It shows dense, slightly coloured tears. High intensity nasal aromas in which the primary aromas are dominant. It shows note of ripe black fruit, with hints of liquor, combined with toasted aromas provided during the ageing in oak barrels. As the wine gets aerated, the intense roasted and spicy notes appear along with mineral hints. |
|
2010 | Warm attack in which a range of balanced flavours are released. Silky palate. Refined tannins. Good mid palate and long finish. Dark cherry color with maroon trims. Intense aromas of fresh ripe fruit along with toast notes provided during its short stay in the oak. Notes of cream and cocoa and a final touch of pepper. |

2009 | Warm attack in which a range of balanced flavours are released. Silky palate. Refined tannins. Good mid palate and long finish. Dark cherry color with maroon trims. Intense aromas of fresh ripe fruit along with toast notes provided during its short stay in the oak. Notes of cream and cocoa and a final touch of pepper. |
|
2008 | It's a very balanced wine with fine tannins and well integrated. Silky and a long finish. Dark cherry color, intense layer. High aromatic intensity that keeps the primary aromas of ripe fruit combined with their own tertiary aging in wood. |
