About Livio Felluga Friulano
Livio Felluga Friulano is a Friulano variety white wine produced by the Livio Felluga winery, under the DOC Friuli Colli Orientali in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy.
The Livio Felluga Friulano wine is made with clusters that are harvested manually and carefully destemmed when they reach the winery. They then macerate for a short time before the pressing and fermentation processes. This happens in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The wine ages for 6 months with its fine lees and is then bottled. It rests in the winery for two more months to refine before going to market.
The wine, now known as Friulano, is one of the best traditional Friuli wines. It is complex with a strong personality, typicality and a characteristic aftertaste with hints of bitter almonds.
Livio Felluga loved Friuli, and he came back here after World War II to fight to rescue the vineyards and viticulture. Felluga is considered to be the founder of the Friuli wine tradition. After huge efforts and struggles he saw his dream come true. He died in 2016, at 102 years old and having positioned his wines as some of the best in Italy.

2018 | Livio Felluga Friulano 2018 is a white wine with an interesting and complex expression of the variety that is reminiscent of citrus, tomato leaves and almonds accompanied by floral notes of jasmine, roses and bergamot. On the palate it has a soft entrance followed by an explosion of ripe white fruit, nuts and vanilla with a balsamic touch. It is persistent, with a slight bitter note at the end and a citrus aftertaste. |
