Lindes de Remelluri Viñedos de San Vicente is a red wine from the Rioja region. It is produced by Granja Ntra. Sra. De Remelluri, a winery that was acquired by Jaime Rodríguez Salis and Amaya Hernandorena in 1967. The two were in charge of bringing back land that had been lost in year before.
The climate in the Rioja Alavesa is mediterranean with a strong influence from Cantabrian Sea which is weakened by the Sierra de Cantabria, which acts as a natural barrier. The Rioja Alavesa has less rain, is more arid, and there is less of a change in temperature in comparison to other zones in the Rioja region. This results in a delay in the ripening of the grapes.
This wine is a blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha, Graciano and Viura grapes taken from vineyards from some of the best growers nearby the winery, Labastida, San Vincente de la Sonsierra. The soils of the vineyards consist of clay and limestone.
As for the production, the winery follows traditional methods. The harvest is carried out manually and the grapes are transported in boxes of 20kg. Following this, the bunches are placed on a selection table.
Fermentation is undergone with indigenous yeasts, and ageing takes place in French oak barrels and vats for 12months.
Remelluri is an idyllic farm located in the surroundings of Labastida, La Rioja Alavesa. It has a hundred hectares of their own vineyard, where the Rodríguez Hermandorea family has perfectly recreated a vineyard in the style of the "château" from Bordeaux. Telmo Rodríguez, faithful to the oenological roots of the region, and restless and innovative in the most modern winemaking techniques, has boosted one of the most prestigious wineries in the region in the recent years, with splendid wines that transmit the personality of the terroir and the personal seal of the Remelluri house.
