Libalis is a white wine from the Sadacia valleys, a wine production area located east of La Rioja.
Libalis is produced by Castillo de Maetierra, a modern winery specialising in white wine.
Libalis is a blend of Moscatel de Grano Menudo (Apianae) (90%), Viura (5%) and Malvasia (5%) varieties. The grapes come from young vines, planted in 1999 in trellises with the intention of facilitating mechanical harvesting.
The development of Libalis begins with a night harvest to maintain freshness of the grapes. The grapes are picked in small boxes and selected in the cellar.
Later there is a long fermentation at a low temperature (13-14ºC). Being semi-underground, the winery remains at this temperature naturally.
Libalis is a young, carefree and very versatile wine.
Fruity and dry. Very nice and sweet. Lots of citrus with a minty touch. Unctuous and very fresh. Nice finish with a touch of bitterness.
A very nice and easy-drinking wine.
The palate is an explosion of flavor, silky, fruity and balanced, with a long and pleasant aftertaste. Powerful attack, good acidity with a touch of bitterness at the end.
In the mouth is an explosion of flavor, silky, fruity and balanced, with a long and pleasant aftertaste.
