La Planta is a red wine from the appellation of origin Ribera del Duero produced by Bodegas Arzuaga Navarra. This is a monovarietal of Tinto Fino.
The grapes used to produce La Planta originate from vines that are more than 20 years of age, property of the winery.
The soils are chalky-clay and the vines are 900 meters above sea level.
The climate of the region is very harsh, being extremely hot in summer and very cold in the winter. The variations in temperatures between day and night are very notable, this allows an excellent ripening process and creates and expressive wine.
The fields are low yielding, this however, brings a greater aromatic concentration to the end product.
After the harvest, which is completed by hand in small boxes that can carry up to 15kg, the grapes are put through a selection process.
The grapes are destemmed and then macerated in stainless steel containers at a controlled temperature between 22ºC and 24ºC.
La Plant is finally aged for 6 months in French and American oak barrels.
Bodegas Arzuaga Navarro is found in the town of Quintanilla de Onésimo, in the nearby surrounds of Soria and Valladolid, very close to the river Duero.
The winery was established in the 90´s and nowadays, is one of the most visited wineries in the whole Ribera del Duero region.

As in all European countries, many Spanish wines owe their reputation to the efforts of some traditional families and some large companies that have kept two basic requirements: quality and personality. These family companies have managed to gather their own heritage that allows them to produce wines "at home", with all the control guarantees. This is the case of this laudable winery, Arzuaga Navarro. Since its early days, at the beginning of the 90s, harvest after harvest they have produced wines with the seal of the house, and with the unequalled style of Ribera del Duero.
