Koehler Ruprecht is a winery located in the town of Kallstad, in the centre of Pfalz, in a manor house. In total it has some10 hectares of vineyards and produces monovarietal Riesling wines that are voluminous, powerful, aromatic and mineral.
The vineyards for Koehler Ruprecht Saumagen Kabinett Trocken come from the Saumagen plot, an internationally known plot that is located in a quarry with limestone soils. The plot has been cultivated since Roman times. The vines are harvested manually, so that a selection of the bunches can be performed while still in the field. In the cellar, it is vatted infoudres and ferments with native yeasts. After the fermentation, the wine remains in contact with its fine lees for 10 months.
