Jambon La Tranche is a natural red wine that is a coupage of 85% Grenache Tinta and the restSyrah grapes. It is produced by Philippe Jambon.
Philippe Jambon is a small winery in Burgundy that works its 4.5 hectares of vineyards organically and produces natural wines, intervening as little as possible in the winery and without using sulphites in its winemaking.
The vineyards for Jambon La Tranche are some 45 years old, and their soils are clayey-calcareous. The harvest is partially vatted without destemming to undergo a carbonic semi-maceration and achieve more aromas of red fruit in the final wine. It is fermented in concrete tanks with native yeasts, and no sulphites are added at any stage of the process. The must-wine is in contact with the skins for 15 days, and the final wine is aged for 3 months in concrete tanks before going on the market.
Jambon La Tranche is a young wine that stands out for its fruity, floral and spicy character. A pleasant wine that can be enjoyed on a host of different occasions.
