About Guilera Brut Nature Reserva

Guilera Brut Nature Reserva is a cava produced by Cava Guilera in Lavern (Penedés). D.O. Cava.
 

Cava Guilera is a family-run company that dates back to 1927, when Isidre Guilera, the person in charge, decided to make his own cava. Currently at the forefront of the production is Pere Guilera, grandson of Isidre, and his daughter Marta, who is in charge of the commercial and wine tourism section.

Cava Guilera is specialised from the beginning in the making of cavas with long ageing, Reserva and Gran Reserva, in small amounts, since they only make around 30,000 bottles.

Cava Guilera is born from the vineyards next to the farm house Ca l’Artigas, property of the family since 1933. Located in the heart of Penedés, this area has a mild climate, with soft winters and not-too-dry summers. The soils here are clayey-calcareous with average fertility.

 

Guilera Brut Nature Reserva is a cava made with Xarello, Maccabeu and Parellada from their own vineyards.

Once the base wine is made, a second fermentation takes place in the bottle for a minimum of 3 years. After this time, the cava is disgorged and no liqueur d’expédition is added.
