Forlong Amigo Imaginario 2023 is an orange wine with a brilliant amber hue and golden highlights. On the nose, it is luscious and expressive, with ripe tropical notes that merge with hints of hazelnut, almond, and a delicate roasted undertone. On the palate, it enters broad and enveloping, with a dense texture and a pronounced sapidity that upholds the character of the palomino during aging, culminating in a long, saline, and warm finish, leaving a sensation of serene, fresh, and profound breadth that lingers in the memory.

About Forlong Amigo Imaginario

When we were children, the imaginary friend was that silent accomplice who appeared unannounced and accompanied us in our boldest mischief, someone with special qualities who made us feel unique, invited us to change the rules and see the world from an upside-down perspective. What if that free and playful spirit could be bottled? At Forlong, they have decided to do so without pretence. A wine born as a small challenge to logic: a white behaving as though it were a red. A fantasy not seeking to escape reality, but to view it from a different angle.
 
In El Puerto de Santa María (Cádiz, Spain), amidst albariza soils and a saline breeze from the Atlantic, Forlong decided to return to the roots without nostalgia, but with respect. A young winery established in 2007, akin to restoring an old house: dusting off, yes, but also breathing life back into it. Organic vineyard, hands in the earth, and a very clear idea: let the landscape speak without interruption.
 
Forlong Amigo Imaginario is a wine crafted from palomino fino grapes sourced from Pago de Balbaína Baja, treated with an unexpected logic: as if it were a red grape. Skin maceration (orange wine), spontaneous fermentation, and a patient 24-month ageing in casks that once held Oloroso wine. The result does not seek to impress, yet it succeeds. There is ripe fruit, toasted notes, and a salinity that lingers a moment longer than expected.
 
Forlong Amigo Imaginario is the perfect excuse to sit at the table, break the mould, and be swept away by the salinity and energy of El Puerto de Santa María. Any excuse is perfect to uncork a bottle and join the celebration of the most authentic vineyard.
