Finca Genoveva Caíño

Red wine Aged in wood.
About Finca Genoveva Caíño
Finca Genoveva Caíño is a red wine from the D.O Rías Baixes produced by the Forjas del Salnés winery. This is a single variety wine made with the Caíño Tinto grape.
Made by Rodrigo Méndez in collaboration with laureate Raúl Pérez, Finca Genoveva Caíño is a wine that you must try at least once in your life. The grapes used to produce this wine come from small scale plots of vineyards, home to century old Caíño vines, occupying little over 1.5 hectares. The vines themselves have been worked and cultivated for 5 generations, one of which, the Genovevas, giving the name to the estate and the wine.
Finca Genoveva Caíño is vinified using traditional methods, in fudres with native yeasts. Before being bottled, the wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels.
Forjas del Salnés is a small family winery in the Rías Baixes founded at the beginning of the last century. The winery produces distinctive wines using native grape varieties. The project, currently led by Rodrigo Mendez, has the invaluable collaboration of Raúl Perez, perhaps the most critically acclaimed Spanish winemaker.
2020 | Finca Genoveva Caíño 2020 is a red wine that beckons one to pause and savour. On the nose, it reveals delicate nuances of tobacco leaves and an elegant floral hint of rose petals. On the palate, its vibrant acidity enhances the crisp flavours of currant and blueberries, culminating in an earthy and lingering finish. This wine embodies the essence of its origin, offering an experience as sophisticated as it is captivating. |

2013 | Of a lithe body and exquisite acidity. Unmissable. Profound and intricate notes of red fruit interwoven with saline and mineral reminiscences. |
