Eve & Michel Rey Pouilly-Fuissé Marechaude 2022 is a white wine with a pale straw-yellow hue. On the nose, it reveals concentrated aromas of ripe yellow fruits such as peach, accompanied by a subtle hint of vanilla. On the palate, it presents a full-bodied and mineral attack, highlighting its ripe acidity and a long-lasting finish. This organic white Burgundy is elegant, with distinctive minerality and a creamy profile that promises excellent ageing potential.

About Eve & Michel Rey Pouilly-Fuissé Marechaude

"Birds of a feather flock together," so when the meticulous Eve and the passionate Michel crossed paths, they knew precisely what to do: take the helm of the small estate they own in the charming village of Vergisson, in Burgundy (France). With the principle that they personally oversee every aspect of their work, both in the vineyard and the winery, they are intimately acquainted with each vine on the estate. This expertise, honed by their combined efforts, has swiftly established them as a benchmark in the Maconnais region, with their wines representing some of the purest expressions of chardonnay in the area.  

In the case of Eve & Michel Rey Pouilly-Fuissé Marechaude, the grapes hail from the vineyard known as La Maréchaude, in Vergisson. These are old chardonnay vines planted in the 1970s, nurtured as naturally as possible. Only organic treatments are applied, with no insecticides or pesticides. Harvesting is done by hand and transported in small crates. Once the grapes are selected, they are gently whole-cluster pressed in a pneumatic press. Subsequently, the obtained must ferments with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Finally, the wine matures for a minimum of 10 months in used barrels. It is bottled unfiltered with very low levels of sulphur.
