El Tiempo que nos une is an ecological, wood-aged red wine made by Bodegas Cerrión with the Monastrell variety in the D.O. Jumilla, in the Murcia region (Spain).
Bodega Cerrón is run by a family who have been connected to winemaking in the upper area of Jumilla since 1895. Located in the municipality of Fuente-Alamo, in Albacete, they are dedicated to preserving the local winemaking history by recovering abandoned vineyards through organic and biodynamic practices and making wines with a good balance between acidity, alcohol and fruit.
El Tiempo que nos une comes from pre-phylloxera vines with an average age of 70 years old. These are old vines planted in mostly calcareous soils at an altitude of about 900 metres above sea level. They are cultivated using organic agriculture, without the use of chemical products that could harm the natural balance of the terroir and the vines. The harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness.
In the winery, El Tiempo que nos une ferments spontaneously with 50% of the grapes whole in cement tanks and following a gentle pressing, the wine ages in foudres for 6 months.
One of the first wines to be made after the harvest, El Tiempo que nos une is a smooth, sweet and easy to drink wine. A young Monastrell tribute to family winemaking.
