Domaine de la Janesse is a young family winery in Côtes du Rhône It was founded in 1973 and has grown a lot since then: it started with 15 hectares of vineyards and currently has about 90.
The grapes fore Domaine de La Janasse Côtes du Rhône Blanc come from different plots with sandy soils. In total they add up to 5 hectares that are cultivated without using pesticides, herbicides or insecticides. The land is fertilised with manure of natural origin and is not weeded, thus maintaining the aeration of the soil and avoiding compacting.
All the winery’s vineyards are harvested manually to respect the integrity of the grape as much as possible. Once in the winery, the Domaine de La Janasse Côtes du Rhône Blanc harvest is pressed in the pneumatic press and the must from each plot is vatted separately. Afterwards the must is cleaned and vinified in vats. Lastly, once the wine is prepared, it is subjected to ageing on lees for 6 months, also in vats.
