About Do Ferreiro Adina
Do Ferreiro Adina is a white wine of the Albariño variety that Bodegas Gerardo Méndez produces in the D.O. Rías Baixas.
Gerardo Méndez is a winery located in the heart of Salnés (Pontevedra). An estate where vines have been planted since 1850 and which is still working three generations late with the same philosophy: to keep its roots.
Do Ferreiro Adina is different because its vines are planted in red slate soils, something quite unusual in this area. The strains are some 45 years old and the great majority are trellised and pruned in Cazenave-Marcón style.
In the winery, once destemming has been performed, a cold film maceration is carried out. Do Ferreiro Adina is pressed and fermented with a selected pre-fermentation agent, and then remains resting on its lees in stainless steel tanks for 9 months.
Do Ferreiro Adina is a Special Edition white wine of the Albariño variety that has the distinction of having begun life on red slate.
2022 | Do Ferreiro Adina 2022 is an Albariño of remarkable complexity. On the nose, it unveils fresh aromas of wet stone and sea breeze, accompanied by herbal hints of anise and subtle notes of orange peel and sourdough bread. Its creamy texture is complemented by a delicate touch of vanilla and cream. On the palate, it displays great breadth, with an intense and vibrant finish that leaves a lasting impression. An elegant and profound white wine that highlights the authenticity of the variety. |

2020 | Do Ferreiro Adina 2020 boasts a straw-yellow hue, pale and lustrous. The bouquet is vigorous, brimming with ripe citrus fruits and a distinctly pronounced minerality. On the palate, its acidity is prominent, complemented by saline and iodine nuances. The finish is extensive and dry. |
