About COZs vp-Vital Branco 2018
COZs vp-Vital Branco is a natural, organic, barrel-aged white wine made by COZs with the Vital variety in Lisbon.
COZs is the project of winemakers Tiago Teles and António Marques da Cruz, who joined forces to recover the vineyards owned by late maestro José Mendonça in Figueira da Foz, in a town north of Lisbon. These are native red and white varieties that are used to produce very expressive, smooth wines with their own personalities by taking a natural approach.
COZs vp-Vital Branco comes from vines located in the Serra de Montejunto, in the northern region of Lisbon and very close to the Atlantic coast. These are 35-year-old strains planted in clay and limestone soil and cultivated through ecological agriculture and without chemical products. The harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness.
In the winery, the COZs vp-Vital Branco grapes are first macerated for 3 days and then gently pressed to ferment spontaneously with native yeasts in old barrels for 11 months. It is finally bottled without being filtered, clarified or adding sulphur.
COZs vp-Vital Branco is a medium-bodied wine with a rich style that is reminiscent of the beautiful whites of the Rhone Valley. Authentic white vitality.
2018 | COZs vp-Vital Branco 2018 is a white wine with aromas of orchard fruit, white flowers and almond skin. On the palate it is flavoursome, creamy and fruity. |
