Cono Sur Bicicleta Carmenère is a wood-aged red wine made by the Cono Sur winery with the Carmenère variety in Chile’s Central Valley and part of the D.O. Colchagua.
The Cono Sur winery was founded in 1993 in Chimbarongo, a town in the province of Colchagua, one of Chile’s most prestigious wine regions. This is a 400 hectare estate with exotic landscapes and the Andes in the background, where the climate has heavily contrasting temperatures. As a result, they produce wines with a traditional European flavour but with the innovative spirit of the New World.
Pioneers in sustainable processes, Cono Sur Bicicleta Carmenère comes from organic vineyards. No chemicals are used, and weed and insect control is left to the geese living on the estate.
After a manual harvest and a thorough grape selection process, Cono Sur Bicicleta Carmenère is made by hand. The grapes are placed in open tanks to begin a carbonic maceration process and fermentation takes place spontaneously with native yeasts.
With an excellent international reputation, the Cono Sur Bicicleta Carmenère wine can be found in over 85 countries including Mexico, England, Japan and Canada. A delicious, enjoyable and versatile red wine from a far south area.
