Chafandín is a red wine from the appellation of origin (D.O) Ribera del Duero produced by the winery Viñas del Jaro. This winery belongs to the group Compañía de Viñedos Iberian and was the first winery established by the family Osborne-Osborne.

Chafandín is a monovarietal of Tempranillo. The grapes originate from old vines about 40 years old from Pago de Chafandín.

The wine is fermented for 12 days at a temperature of 26ºC, after the maceration process of 17 days with its husks.

After this process, the malolactic maceration process is conducted in the new wooden French barrels (300L capacity), subsequently, is aged in the same barrels for an additional 21 months.

Viñas del Jaro is an exemplary winery within D.O. Ribera del Duero, and which is part of the Osborne Osborne group. It is a unique project. Its aim is to make wines that show a distinguishing personality from the beginning, where the strength and structure are combined with elegance and complexity. A good example of their success are the 2 recent Gold Medals they received for their wines Jaros and Chafandín in the prestigious Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2015, with a jury formed by over 300 professionals from 50 countries, and over 8,000 wines from all around the world.
Ribera del Duero wine is one of the most prestigious wines in Spain. Red wines made with Tinto Fino variety grapes, with highly complex aromas, fine on the palate and with a great storage capacity. The wines of Ribera del Duero present a perfect balance between the vividness of the fruit and the refinement of the wood, which has led to them obtaining a well-deserved international acclaim.
