About Campo Viejo Ecológico

Campo Viejo Ecológico is a red wine produced by the winery Campo Viejo in Logroño, D.O.Ca. Rioja.

 

Campo Viejo has a long history that dates back to its first harvest in 1959, in the old winery of Ortigüela. The modern, sustainable winery was opened in 2001. Here, the long dedication of Campo Viejo to the production of Rioja wines, alongside the use of advanced techniques, has allowed them to create new combinations using the traditional methods, to now offer wine styles that are more modern, vibrant and expressive.

Campo Viejo controls more than 1900 hectares to make their wines, most of them planted with vines that are over 25 years old. This way, they have different altitudes, orientations and soils, to chose the best grapes in the best conditions.

 

Campo Viejo Ecológico is a wine made from Tempranillo from a vineyard located next to the winery.

After the harvest, the grapes are pressed. Then, they ferment in stainless steel deposits with temperature control. This wine is not aged.

 

Campo Viejo Ecológico is a fruity, fresh and zesty wine. A great explosion of aromas of red fruit with flowery notes. In the mouth it is easy to drink and pleasant.

The butterflies on the label show the biodiversity of Campo Viejo. The vineyard that surrounds the winery is home to more than 50 species of butterflies that act as a bioindicator, reflecting the health of the surroundings.

2022

Campo Viejo Ecológico 2022 emerges as a youthful red wine, delightfully light on the palate. Olfactorily, it unveils a spectrum of fruity aromas with cherries, plums, blackberries, strawberries, and a hint of raspberry taking center stage, augmented by subtle undertones of aromatic herbs. On the taste buds, it is smooth and predominantly fruity, providing an effortlessly drinkable and invigorating experience. The finish is extensive and flows with finesse, beckoning another sip. It is the quintessential choice for those in pursuit of a casual yet authentic wine.

2017 Campo Viejo Ecológico 2017 is a young, fruity and fresh red wine. In this vintage, the aromas of fresh red fruit stand out, with light mineral notes. In the mouth, it is pleasant, silky and long.
