Campillo Crianza

Campillo Crianza is a red wine from the D.O.C La Rioja produced by the Campillo winery. This wine is made using only Tempranillo grapes, the most common grape variety of the region.

The grapes used for Campillo Crianza come from selected plots of vineyards in the municipality of Laguardia, a town with a strong heritage in riojan wines. The vineyards are located at 650 metres above sea level and the yield per hectre is considerable.

The harvest is carried out manually. After being transported to the winery, the grapes are placed 30,000 kg capacity tanks where fermentation takes place, followed by maceration which lasts for around 2 weeks.

Finally, Campillo Crianza is aged in second year american oak barrels for 18months before being bottled, where it then again rests until being put onto the market.

Campillo is a company that forms part of the Grupo Faustino. Like the majority of the wineries in the region, Campillo specialises in producing red wines, especially of the Tempranillo variety.
