About Camino de los Arrieros
Camino de los Arrieros is a red wine from D.O. Arribes, produced by Alvar de Dios Hernández.
After working in several different wineries, Alvar de Dios decided to start his own personal project, demonstrating the value of the old vines owned by his grandfather in the town of El Pego. His clear effort towards an organic-biodynamic cultivation and a classic production, result in fine and tasty wines. Alvar de Dios has managed to position himself amongst the most important winemakers of the area.
Camino de los Arrieros is a red wine made with Juan García, Rufete and other varieties coplanted in a vineyard that is over 50 years old, with granite soils, located within the limits of D.O. Arribes.
After the manual harvest, and once they have been destemmed and stomped, the grapes go through a cold maceration for 24-48 hours. Fermentation is carried out with native yeasts in stainless steel deposits at a controlled temperature. This wine is aged for 10 months in 300-litre French oak barrels.

Camino de los Arrieros 2021 is a young red wine, with a juicy personality. It boasts a highly expressive nose where floral, herbal, and wild berry aromas harmoniously coexist, offering a very fragrant profile. On the palate, it presents a very pleasant medium body, accompanied by fine tannins and great balance. Unlike other wines from the region, it surprises with its paler colour but also delights with its flavour, simply delicious, fresh, and elegant.

2016 | Camino de los Arrieros 2016 is a deep, meaty and austere red wine. This vintage is rustic and elegant in equal parts. The aromas of ripe black fruit stand out in the nose, with distinguished spicy notes and a very elegant toasted touch. On the palate it displays volume, with a rather full mid-palate and a fresh and lingering finish. |
