Characteristics Bott-Geyl Riesling Grafenreben
Bott-Geyl Riesling Grafenreben is a biodynamic white wine from the AOC Alsace. It is a monovarietal Riesling produced by Domaine Bott-Geyl.
Domaine Bott-Geyl is an Alsatian family winery with some two centuries of history. It has cultivated its 14 hectares of vineyard biodynamically since 2002 and has four Gran Cru plots.
Bott-Geyl Riesling Grafenrebencomes from a plot in the municipality of Zellengerg and it is considered as a vineyard that is a younger brother to the Grands Crus of Alsace. The plot is on a slope of clay and limestone facing southeast. An ideal vineyard for cultivating Riesling, producing salty wines, with nuances of stone fruit and walnut.
Bott-Geyl Riesling Grafenreben is harvested manually. Once in the cellar, the grapes are pressed gently and the must is cleaned by decantation for about 12 hours.
Bott-Geyl Riesling Grafenreben has an ageing potential of about 15 years, and it is advisable to consume it from the third or fourth year after bottling. It is fermented with native yeasts, and the final wine ages on lees for about 9 months. Only some 4,000 bottles are produced.
Real reviews from customers who have purchased this product
Bott-Geyl Riesling Grafenreben 2014 has tasty and somewhat herbal aromas. It is a direct, pure and salty wine on the palate, with a delicate elegance and a great tension. It stands out for being very mineral, well structured and lively.
