About Bond Vecina
In the expansive vineyards of Napa, the distinguished cabernet sauvignon variety stands as a testament to the region's vinous wealth. The varied soils and optimal climatic conditions of this Californian valley provide an impeccable backdrop for this grape to flourish in its characteristic splendor. From sun-drenched slopes to mineral-rich earth, each vineyard contributes a unique dimension to the expression of this esteemed varietal. It is against this backdrop of oenological grandeur that the renowned Californian vintner H. William Harlan, proprietor of Harlan Estates, has been inspired to establish Bond Estates, a venture focused on "the grand crus of Napa" to showcase the pinnacle of cabernet sauvignon.
Sourced exclusively from five select crus spanning a mere 7-11 acres, over which Harlan does not hold ownership but exercises complete viticultural control through enduring contracts, one of his wines is Bond Vecina. This single-varietal cabernet sauvignon hails from a vineyard encompassing 4.5 hectares located to the south of Oakville at an elevation of 100 meters. Ancient vines planted on terraced slopes with volcanic soil are tended using biodynamic practices, and irrigation has been progressively phased out. In the winery, the grapes are meticulously selected and destemmed to macerate and ferment with indigenous yeasts. Ultimately, the wine is aged in oak barrels to achieve the finest refinement.
With a production that scarcely reaches 600 cases annually, Bond Vecina is one of the most captivating icons of Napa Valley. A grand cru eminently suited for cellaring, it originates from the hills encircling this great American valley and perfectly embodies the best of this viticultural zone.
