Barahonda HC Monastrell is a vegan single-variety Monastrell red wine produced by the Barahonda winery in the D.O. Yecla in Murcia, Spain.
The Barahonda HC Monastrell wine is made with grapes that grow in plots with limestone rock soils. When the grapes reach the winery, they are vinified in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperatures ranging from 20°C to 25°C. The resulting wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels where it is also aged for at least twelve months before being sold.
The Barahonda HC Monastrell wine is made without using any animal products, so it is suitable for vegans and vegetarians.
The Barahonda winery dates back to 1850 and is now run by the Candela family who have dedicated their lives to winemaking. Four generations later, the winery and family estate are now run by brothers Antonio and Alfredo Candela, who are carrying the family’s long legacy and integrating it into the new and modern winery with the aim of making quality wines that are closely connected to the land.
