About AMI Le Gaminot
If two highly skilled winemakers join forces, the project is likely to succeed. And if the project is full of joy as well as knowledge, the winery is sure to go from strength to strength. Paul Marchand-Perarnau and Willy Roulendes are two wine lovers who have dedicated their lives to their profession. They are childhood friends who enjoy sharing their great passion. They had already discovered this shared passion years ago when they worked together at Clos du Moulin aux Moines in Auxey Durresses and they loved it so much that they decided to become partners and make their own wines. Under the brand name AMI (friend in French) they set up their project in 2014 in the Maranges Valley, in the south of the Côte de Beaune (Burgundy) and are dedicated to making fun and very pure wines for people to enjoy.
One of their beautiful productions is AMI Le Gaminot, a coupage of the Gamay, Aligoté, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay varieties. The first one comes from old organic vines grown on clay and granitic soils on the slopes of Mont Brouilly, and the other varieties are planted on clay and limestone soils. The vines are always cultivated using organic agriculture with biodynamic treatments and following the lunar cycles in each of the processes. Once the grapes have been harvested and selected by hand, the Gamay and Aligoté grapes are co-fermented in whole bunches in a large open wooden vat in the winery. The Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are vinified in stainless steel tanks with native yeasts. Then the wine ages for 12 months in used French oak barrels. Finally, they are blended and the resulting wine is bottled without clarifying, filtering or adding SO2.
Fun, flavoursome and deep, AMI Le Gaminot is the result of expertise combined with a very good friendship. The perfect formula to make a project succeed.
2020 | AMI Le Gaminot 2020 is a juicy and fun wine. On the nose there is violet, cherry and flowers. On the palate it is easy to drink and light-bodied with very pleasant tannins and balanced acidity. Plum and cherry flavours. The finish has a light touch of oak. |

2019 |
AMI Le Gaminot 2019 is a succulent red wine brimming with luscious aromas of red and black fruits, hints of crimson roses, and an understated spicy undertone. On the palate, it is velvety, sleek, and effortlessly drinkable. This wine boasts a moderate acidity, with ultra-fine, intricately woven tannins and pleasant, refined mineral nuances. |
