About Albamar Albariño
Albamar is a white wine from D.O Rías Baixes produced by the Albamar winery. This is a single variety wine made exclusively with the Albariño grape, the trademark variety of the region.
The grapes used for Albamar grow on sandy soils situated close to the Ría de Arousa. The vineyards, which are over 25 years old, are situated in O Salnés and cultivate the vines using a trellis system. The grapes are harvested manually after having been selected, ensuring that they do not break and remain in the best condition before the vinification process is carried out.
At the winery, the bunches for Albamar are pressed and, after a short rest, undergo a phase of debourbage. The must for Albamar then undergoes alcoholic and spontaneous fermentation at controlled temperatures. Finally, the wine is left to age on its dissolved fine lees for 6 months. The result: a white wine filled with a gorgeous sparkle and freshness.
The Albamar winery, founded around 25 years ago, is led by Xurxo Alba. The winery specializes in the cultivation and production of the Albariño grape. This family project produces wines that can be enjoyed by a wide audience.
