Wines from the province of Cuenca and Toledo

To the west of Cuenca province and northwest of the province of Toledo is situated in the growing zone Uclés Appellation. In the western half of the vines are between 500 and 800 meters high, and in the eastern half between 600 and 1,200 meters, the two sides separated by the Sierra de Altamira. The soils vary from sandy to sandy loam, deep, mostly on the rivers that bathe the area and Bedija Riansares, soils are clay loam.
The climate is continental with a Mediterranean rainfall generally less than 500mm. All these factors determine the ideal conditions for growing grapes giving it some unique characteristics.
