About Vilosell
Vilosell is a red wine from Costers del Segre prepared by Thomas Cusiné, a winery which celebrates 10 years of experience in the wine world. The winery was founded in the village of El Vilosell, in the region of Les Garrigues, in the province of Lleida.
The climate in this area is smooth, with continental influences. A remarkable thermal contrast between day and night favours the slow ripening of the grapes. This wine is a blend of 55% Tempranillo, 18% Syrah, 12% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Garnacha.
The grapes come from 30 hectares of vineyards planted between 710 and 760 meters above sea level. The vineyards are planted on gravel, calcerous and clay soils. As for the processing, the grapes are destemmed and macerated at a controlled temperature.
Subsequently, malolactic fermentation takes place in barrels before the wine rests nine months in French oak barrels to mature.

|
2012 | Tasty and friendly. Cherry red with violet hues. On the nose there are aromas of red berries, blackberries and blueberries, along with spices like pepper and cloves. Toasted flavours of aging. |

2009 | In the palate, this wine is elegant, complex, deep and structured. Good, direct and fresh acidity and quite noticeable polished and ripe tannins. It has a long and persistent finish which leaves roasted notes at retro-olfaction. Dark cherry colour with violet reflections. Clean and bright. It shows high-intensity nasal aromas in which the expressive and fleshy notes of black fruit stand out along with the roasted and spicy aromas on a pleasant balsamic background with aniseed and mentholated hints. |
|
2008 | Intense and wide, voluminous wine with a silky mid palate full of juicy notes of fruit, with a touch of jam, accompanied by toasted and mineral aromas and surprising subtle hints of liquorice. Its tannins are ripe and polished. Good acidity and a long and persistent finish that leaves elegant fruity and toasty aromas.
A round, tasty and very friendly wine.
Nice cherry colour with violet edges. Very thin and bright tears. Pleasant aromatic complexity. Vilosell 2008 shows a wide range of intense flavours. The notes of herbs, fruits, hot spices and red fruit give way to the hints of liquoriced ripe fruit, sweet spices and cocoa and to the toasted and balsamic notes. Subtle floral background with notes of undergrowth. |
|
2007 | In the mouth is full, cool, nice, long, with soft tannins and sweet, with a medium body that makes it nice and easy to understand. Retronasal cherry fruit and jam. Intense color of blackberry wine. Nose with unique aromatic spectrum, with tones of ripe berries, blueberry jam, menthol and fresh herbs. Well-integrated wood. |
