Lustau Vermut Rojo

Tasting notes Lustau Vermut Rojo
Vermouth.
Lustau Vermut Rojo is a sweet vermouth. The nose is intense and complex, with notes of ripe fruit, citrus fruits and herbs on a background of smoky wood. On the palate, it’s velvety, smooth and oily. Hazelnut and slightly bitter finish.
About Lustau Vermut Rojo
Every year on January 1st, coinciding with the opening of the season, the Spanish Association of Wine Journalists and Writers (AEPEV), publishes the list of the best wines and spirits from the previous year. And in 2021 the Jerez wineries Lustau woke up to the news that its Lustau Vermut Rojo had achieved first place in this ranking out of more than 700 brands.
The man responsible for all this is Sergio Martínez, oenologist of this bodega, the winner for four years in another competition of the title of 'Best Oenologist of Generoso Wines in the World'. On this occasion, and always true to his style, Sergio Martínez continues with the tradition of the Jerez region and uses Amontillado and Pedro Ximénez as the base for the Lustau Vermut Rojo. It couldn’t be otherwise in this land of great generoso wines! The recipe is completed with 10 botanicals which are infused separately, then added and assembled in the perfect doses.
Ideal to serve in a wide glass with ice and orange peel. Nothing else. When it comes to the best vermouth in Spain, not much is needed to enjoy the quality.
