About Vadio Branco

Vadio Branco is an organic white wine produced by the Vadio winery with the Bical and Sercial varieties in the Portuguese appellation DOC Bairrada, in Beiras.
 
Vadio is the small family project of Luís Patrão, a winemaker born in the village of Poutena, in the demarcated region of Bairrada and with experience in different parts of the world such as Australia, California and Chile. The winery has two plots of vineyards in which they recover the native varieties and make authentic and classic wines of the area. 
 
Vadio Branco comes from vineyards located on a hill with western exposure. Four and a half hectares of vineyards planted on sandy and limestone soils. Thirty-year-old vines grown organically and limiting the yield to 45 hl/ha. The harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness. 
 
In the winery, the Vadio Branco grapes are destemmed and pressed with a pneumatic press. The must obtained is then fermented at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks for the Sercial variety and in used barrels for the Bicalvariety.
 
With the intention of recovering the traditional varieties of the Bairrada area, Vadio Branco is a very fragrant white wine, easy to drink and wrapped in a fragile and seductive minerality.

Vadio Branco 2020 is a white wine with aromas of citrus fruits, notes of white flowers and hints of mint. On the palate it’s dry, fresh and very pleasant. A fruity wine with good acidity and a deliciously mineral finish.
