Tiago Teles Raiz Tinto is a red wine made with the Alfrocheiro red variety with a very small amount of the Bical white variety, produced by the Tiago Teles winery in the Vinho de Portugal denomination in Bairrada, Portugal.
To make the Tiago Teles Raiz Tinto wine, the grapes are crushed without destemming and undergo alcoholic fermentation with their own yeasts in 1000-litre tanks, followed by a short maceration and light pressing. The resulting wine ages in crude cement tanks for 10 months under its fine lees.
The white and red wines in Tiago Tales’ Raiz range are made as a way to connect with Arcos de Valdevez, where they are made. The grapes grow in granitic soils bathed by the waters of the River Vez in a genuine and simple environment where the winemakers consider themselves lucky to be; right in the heart of Bairrada. The team work with the utmost respect for the environment and with minimal intervention to produce unusual wines that are a true expression of their grapes.
2017 | Tiago Teles Raiz Tinto 2017 is a smooth red wine with fruity and spicy aromas on the nose and an interesting mineral nuance. On the palate it is light and fresh, with hints of grapefruit, cherries and spices. This is a red wine with brilliant acidity and good structure. |
