Strohmeier Schiller Frizzante is a natural and ecological sparkling wine made by Franz Strohmeier with the Blauer Wildbacher native variety in the Austrian denomination Weinland Österreich, in Styria.
Frank Strohmeier and his wife Christine started their natural winemaking project in 2004 in the Steiermark area of Styria, known as the “Green Heart” of Austria. There they have 8 hectares of local varieties that they cultivate ecologically and vinify with minimal intervention and maximum care. As a result, they produce delicate and delicious still and sparkling wines with great finesse and balance.
Strohmeier Schiller Frizzante comes from vineyards that grow wild, without pruning and that produce very small grapes with intense flavour. They are cultivated using organic agriculture and biodynamic treatments, and the harvest is carried out manually.
In the winery, the Strohmeier Schiller Frizzante grapes ferment spontaneously with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks followed by a second fermentation in the bottle adding yeast and sugar at a carbon dioxide pressure of 2.5 bar.
Strohmeier Schiller Frizzante is a sparkling wine that is made with the same traditional method as champagne, but produces a very different wine. A lively, refreshing and very mineral sparkling wine.
