Don Juancho Meléndez created Ron Diplomático. Don Juancho was a traveller who was fascinated by the subtle complexities of the many environmental factors that affect the rum-making process, such as the weather and humidity of the tropics. The result was a unique rum that became famous throughout the world, called Ron Diplomático.
This rum is aged in the traditional way for 12 years in small oak barrels selected from the reserve, which are obtained by the traditional process of distilling the sugar cane in old copper stills.
